For Canadian investors, exposure to opportunities in other markets around the world is often desired, as the Canadian market only makes up a small percentage of the total global market and has a heavy concentration in three sectors: financials, energy and materials.

To add diversification and exposure to other markets, investors can use ETFs focused on other global geographic areas and sector opportunities to cast a wider net and potentially benefit from growth outside of Canada.

Investors wishing to diversify into non-Canadian markets can use low-cost ETFs focused on the U.S., international and emerging markets; global dividends and specific global sectors.
